Life's challenges do not break us but build us.

Greetings!

I had wanted to write a post before 2020 was over.  Despite of the situations, deaths, and fear due to the pandemic, I saw lots of good happening around the world.  I wanted to write a post of hope and gratitude.  As days gone by, I realized I was not someone that could simply write something because I wanted to publish a post at year-end.  I let it go, and chose to enjoy the holidays.

In the morning of January 2, 2021, I woke up with these words -

                              Life's challenges do not break us but build us.

How true it was!  Despite of all the challenges due to covid-19, many people had risen up to face life's situations.  Some college students founded the Farm Link Project.  They collected produce from farms across USA, and distributed them to organizations that helped people in need.  During this time, many schools chose to teach students remotely.  Some fathers and grandfathers in different states began to make desks and give them to children in their neighborhood for free.  They wanted the children to have their own desks at home so that they could focus on learning.  Upon learning the news that there was a shortage of masks and protective equipment for healthcare / frontline workers, companies as well as individuals began making them and donated them to the hospitals.  Due to the covid-19 situation, a teenager went to a store to buy grocery and brought them to his grandmother.  He was a thoughtful young man.  He began to think of other senior citizens that might be in a similar situation as his grandmother.  Later, he and his friends volunteered to help other seniors just as he had helped his grandmother.  The seniors gave them lists of what they wanted to buy from stores, and they delivered to them.  These were just a few examples.  There were numerous heartwarming stories of people helping and cheering for others.  In time of great need, people became more innovative.  New businesses and products came into being.

During the pandemic, the frontline workers such as nurses, doctors, and emergency operators worked extreme long hours in unthinkable stressful situations trying to help as much as they could.  Sadly, some died while trying to assist those that had covid-19.  Their service of love was not forgotten.  On TV, I saw their loved ones and coworkers expressed grief over their deaths; meanwhile, they were also very proud of them.  In some, I saw a steadiness in their eyes that they would follow their example and serve as they did.

                                            ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~

I did not finish writing because I soon realized I was having an allergic reaction ** to an antibiotic drug prescribed by the dentist.  (I had a root canal a few days before the New Year Day.)

                                            ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~

January 5 was the Senate runoff election in Georgia.  I lived an ordinary life.  I watched TV and paid attention to what happened around the world.

The next day, Jan. 6, our family sat in front of the TV for hours watching what went on in the Capital.  From the start, we wondered as many people did about the minimal presence of the police and guards.

One day, a loved one asked, "Next Wednesday will be the inauguration day.  What do you think will happen?"

I said, "I don't know, but I hold the vision of peace."  I did not explain that peace was not necessary what most people held in their mind.  Peace is the knowing that all is well, and have faith that only good will come out of all situations.

                                            ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~

The Inauguration Day was now over.  It went on smoothly.  Earlier that day, the sky was gray and cloudy.  For a brief while before the ceremony was about to begin, there were a few flurries.  As if to signal a new beginning, the sky turned beautifully blue with lovely white clouds when the main events took place.

Many of us might not soon forget about Jan. 6.  What was your / our reaction right after what had happened?  Sometimes things happened for a reason.  Did we see the positivity after the unrest?  Congress worked long hours that night to show violence could not deter them from doing what needed to be done.  Corporations took a stand against violence and falsehood.  As most people chose peace over unrest and love over hatred, what happened that day brought forth unity in where we stood.

                                            ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~

Today I learned a relative who lived in another state had recently died of covid-19.  Some months ago, I also learned a sister at the small church in another state had moved on.  She was a retired nurse.  She and her husband had done a lot for the church.  All of us loved and respected her.  She always called my name in a very special cheerful way that was truthful and uplifting.  As a human being, I felt sad that she had moved on.  Spiritually, I understood she had done all the good that she had come to do.  She was truly a blessing to the church, the community, and all that had come to know her.

Over 2 million people have died of covid-19 worldwide.  In USA, over 400,000 people have lost their lives due to the virus.  It is natural that we feel sad over the deaths.

When my mother passed away, I cried and cried for 3 years whenever I thought of her.  I saw her in my dreams smiling at me gently and lovingly.  I woke up crying.  I thought it was only a dream, and she was no longer with me.  One day I came to the realization that my mother loved me and she would not want me to be sad.  When I was going through the challenging time of my life, she showed me she was watching over me and my sons / her grandsons.  (Re my post Happy Mother's Day )

I share with you my story because I want you to know that death is not the end.  Those that love us (e.g. our family and loved ones) do not want us to be overwhelmed by grief or pain because of their passing.  They love us and want us to be happy and well.

                                            ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~

Life's challenges do not break us but build us.

I find truth in these words, do you?

Love and Blessings,
Q of D

** In the early hours of the New Year Day, the itchiness at my back woke me up.  I felt some rash in the center of my back between the shoulder blades.  I could not sleep.  I thought (or hoped) it would go away in the day.  I failed to recognize that it was an allergic reaction to the antibiotic drug.  I continued to take the drug (one in the morning and one at night).  Soon I found hives all over the front and back of my body, and spread to my thighs and legs.  I searched the Internet and learned some people had similar skin problem after taking the drug.  My face and body were red.  Luckily, I did not have other side effects such as a fever or diarrhea.  I went through some sleepless nights, and eventually called the dentist.  She was very nice and said I should have called her right away, no matter if it was late at night or a Saturday / Sunday.  After taking the pill she prescribed, I was able to fall asleep.  It took some days for the hives to disappear.  I am well.

Happy 2020! Lady Portia's Words on LOVE

Greetings!

It had been quite a while since I published  What is love .  In that post, a woman asked the facilitator "What is love?"  At the end of my post, I promised to write a follow up post on love.  Below was an excerpt from the message about love from Lady Portia (the sacred feminine aspect of Saint Germain) channeled through Natalie Glasson, the founder of the Sacred School of Omna.  In the message, Lady Portia said her love and our love were (are) from the same source.

"My love and your love are expressed and utilised in different and diverse waysTherefore, our love is the same while embodying a different purpose.  However, the goal of our love is the same.  This signifies that the journey and expression of love can be different.  In recognizing this, you accept that your source is the same while you have the freedom to be your unique essence or soul without judgment for yourself and others.  You give yourself and others permission to express the flow of truth while recognising the oneness that is always present.  This is truly liberating and allows judgment and the need to understand to fall away.  You create a space for your truth to be present within you and through you while honouring the same within others."

As I had mentioned earlier, I had not written any post for some weeks.  The truth was I found myself facing some situations or conflict.  At first, I wanted very much to clear things up.  Then I realized the best I could do at this time was to let it be.  It was not easy.  The human I did not want to be judged / misunderstood, and automatically, I wanted to react.  As time went by, I knew I had made the right decision to let it go.  I was at ease and at peace.

Happy New Year!

Love,
Q of D

P.S.  As I looked up the message from Lady Portia, I noticed I subscribed to Natalie Glasson's messages on Nov. 11, 2016, 1111 Angels Day!  I had listened to her messages on YouTube for a couple of years before I suddenly decided to sign up.  Her channeled messages from the loving beings helped me a lot over the years.  If you are interested, please visit her website Sacred School of OmNa - omna.org

Why are some people born with a life crippling condition?

Greetings!

Have you ever wonder why some people are born with a physical challenge or have life crippling diseases early on in their lives that may never be healed?  I find this entry dated April 5, 2006 in my journal.

We always associate healing with one's physical well-being, but it is not necessary the case.  There are healing in many levels.  One may come into this life with a physical challenge that may never be healed because it may be a choice he made.  Healing can take place among his loved ones while taking care of him.  Or, he may have chosen the physical challenge to have an experience.  Instead of totally dismantled because of his illness, he accepts, prospers, and lives a good life.

The above were written under the date.  I did not record the reason or situation.  I supposed I must have asked a question, and I wrote down the words that came to me (probably from my inner self, guides or angels).

Some people looked at life as a system of punishment and rewards.  However, we should bear in mind that, as humans, we did not see the big picture behind every situation.  It helped to look at others with a positive, non-judging attitude.  (Please click to view Life is a wowing experience )

You don't necessary have to like or dislike someone . . . .

Greetings!

At different stages of our life, we have different views of what are happening around us.  We handle whatever happens from where we are at.  As we look back at our life, most of us have our moment of regrets, and wish we could have handled a certain situation / relationship differently.

Here are some words of wisdom from my guides and angels.

"Just wish him well.  Send him away with good wishes."
(For example, he has deep feelings for you, but you don't feel the same towards him.)

"See, if there is no judgment - you don't necessary have to like or dislike someone.  You just love whoever comes onto your path.  When you form judgment, it will be very easy to result in a karmic reaction.  There is no punishment.  It (life) is about understanding.  We will look at a life experience differently the minute we understand or realize the truth.  We will see the wonders of all experiences.  (Love as God loves, non-judging and unconditional.)

It is alright to react with a certain mood such as happy, surprise or even upset.  Face it, this is what life is all about.  But then, we discern ourselves from the feeling and observe it with tranquility.

Be happy for any experience.  There is no good or bad experience.  Life is a learning lesson.  Every day we face life with curiosity or with the eyes of wonder like a child.   For instance, when children fall down, some cry while others may laugh because it is a new experience.  There is no right or wrong reaction, and each will move on."

Let me share with you an experience.  The other day while I was working I rolled my eyes at . . . and right away I observed my action and burst out laughing.  I rolled my eyes at myself simply because I was a little bit clumsy in doing my job!  How busy was my mind judging the self and others!  Can this be an example of discerning ourselves from the feeling and observe it with tranquility?  Well, I don't know.  It may be you can be the judge.  (Hey, remember don't judge!!! Just kidding.)

We live, learn and go through many experiences or lessons.  From the human point of view, it is hard to see all our experiences as positive or valuable since we don't see the whole picture or the true reason why this or that happens.  The best we can do is be the loving essence that we are - love ourselves, love others, at times laugh at our own follies if we err, adjust our views, and correct our actions if we can.

Love and Peace,

Guide's Words On Dreams

An entry in my journal dated 1/14/2010

Recently I have dreams that I cannot understand.  The dreams do not seem to have any meaning.  So I ask for advice.

"Yes, recently you have many dreams you do not understand.  It is because you use your human mind to interpret what is going on.  If you look deeper into your dreams, you will see the pattern that correlates with your present way of thinking.  Then you can learn from your dreams.

What does not work in your dreams also does not work in your life; what works in your dreams is also good if you apply them to your present situation.

Dreams are very symbolic.  To have a deeper understanding of your dreams, you need to go deeper into your consciousness to see them from there.  It is our hope you will find meaning and learn from all dimensions.  We understand it is not easy to think or to understand from where you are (as humans), but you can if you try.  So go over your dreams again, and see if you see anything new."

Focus on the goodness of people

Greetings!

Reading through my old notebooks, I found a short entry that was worth sharing.  It happened many years ago.

                                            ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~

I came out of a place.  My husband was waiting for me in the car.  As soon as I got inside the car, I vented all my frustration with the woman that worked there that day.  This place had different employees working on different shifts during the weekdays.  Most of the time there was only one employee.  I came to this place regularly.  Most of the workers were nice.  However, this woman had always been rude and mean.  I told my husband that it might be I should go there on the day she was off.  I went on to recall my past experiences dealing with her.  All of a sudden, I heard (as a quiet voice within) -

Don't dwell on other's negativity
Focus on the goodness of people

Immediately, I stopped talking.  With my spirit guide's timely intervention, I realized I had reacted negatively to a situation again.  "Oh, another lesson of discernment or don't take things personally,"  I smiled and let go of the unwholesome feeling.

                                            ~~~~~     end of entry    ~~~~~
Please don't think for a minute that I attained my peace from then on.  I am still learning, and have many lessons to go through.  However, I have come to understand that people are not who they seem to be - they are not the personalities they take on nor the roles they play.  Challenging situations may be planned lessons for us to overcome.  We don't have to react adversely to those who act negatively towards us.
According to my experiences, forgiveness for others or self is not even needed in most of the cases.  Oftentimes, we simply have to let go, and don't take things personally.  When we focus on the goodness of people, we see beauty and wonders wherever we are.
Love,
Q of D
P.S.  If you may, please read my post You don't necessary have to like or dislike someone.  I find my guide's words wise and helpful.
We don't judge you. You judge yourself. Don't be too hard on yourself.
Greetings!
One day years ago, I lost my cool and reacted to a situation.  Afterwards, I was troubled by how I had acted.  In my mind, I kept going over what had happened, and how I should have conducted myself.  I criticized myself, and mentally said, "Sorry, teachers and angels, I must have disappointed you."  Then I 'heard'
       "We don't judge you.  You judge yourself.  Don't be too hard on yourself."
Indeed, over the years, I learn my guides and angels are just here to help me learn my lessons.  If I haven't learned a lesson, they bring the lesson again.  They are always patient and loving.  I also learn to be gentle and compassionate towards myself as well as others.  Below is another story that helps me see from another angle of truth.
A dear one suddenly acted distant and angry.  I sensed he was not happy.  He had always kept things to himself.  I tried to be patient.  As this went on for a couple of days, I concluded from his angry words that he was angry at me.  One morning while taking a shower, I could not help but thought I had failed even though I had tried my best to love him.  Then I 'heard'
                                     He is not angry at you
                                     He is angry at himself
                                     He just expresses his anger to you,
                                     but he is not angry towards you
Coincidentally, he called and apologized to me later that morning.  He told me what had been bothering him.  It was true he was angry at himself.
Some may say, "How can we look at those that express their anger towards us with love and compassion?"  Have you ever been filled with anger, jealousy, hatred, or resentment before?  It doesn't feel good, isn't it?  When one is blinded by anger, he is the first one to suffer from the fire of his own wrath Life is not about who is right or wrong.  We are all connected.  To look at others with love and compassion does not mean we condone what they do.  It means we do not judge them, and understand they are going through their lessons of life.  Sometimes we just have to let go and do not take whatever happens personally.
It is important for us to pay attention to our thoughts or in other words to live consciously.  The sooner we observe unwholesome thoughts rise in our mind and replace them with positive thoughts, the merrier our life will be.
Many blessings,
Will there be war forever?
Greetings!
Reading through my old notebooks, I found that I had asked a question on war and I would like to share with you.
"As you know (i.e. my guides and angels), I have been praying for world peace.  I do know throughout history wars and struggle for dominance have been going on forever.  As people are becoming more aware spiritually, will we one day be able to eliminate war and settle things rationally and lovingly?"
"Good question.  Will there be war forever?  That's why it is important for you to pray. You may think your effort is just 'one'.  However, there is only one 'Universal Mind', and what you think affect the rest.  What more of you (same mind or thinking) desire (peace) will have a greater influence than you can believe.  Never, never think what one can do or you can do is minimal.  Do continue to pray - your prayers are heard."  (2/14/2003)
I would like to leave you with these quotes.
"We are what we think.  All that we are, arises with our thoughts.  With our thoughts, we make the world".............Buddha
"Mind is the builder".............Edgar Cayce
"Mind is the master power that molds and makes,
     And we are Mind, and evermore we take
 The tool of thought, and shaping what we will,
      Bring forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills.
 We think in secret, and it comes to pass -
      Our world is but our looking glass
The 'real beauty' of life is 'what you do not know'
An entry in my journal dated 1/23/2003.  Here are some of the words from my guides.
You want to know what's to come before it comes.  You want us to confirm what you think you know.  The 'real beauty' of life is 'what you do not know'.  For instance, if you know you will be very rich in May, you will look forward to May.  What happens in between now and May you will not handle them with emotions of not knowing.
With not knowing, you will handle whatever happens with creativity. You will deal with them with your true emotions.  And to do that - living your life truthfully - is what life is all about.
Peace and love,
Q of D
Guide's Words of Wisdom on Relationship
Greetings,
Relationship is one of the biggest challenges in life.  Here are some words of wisdom on relationship from my spirit guide.
"Indeed, relationship is one hard lesson.  It is a connection between two or more. One needs to tend to it and nurture it all the time.  You have to be focused to make a relationship work.  A good relationship needs mutual attendance and care.  If it is heavy on one side, the relationship is out of balance.  Both must attend to it as if that is the main focus in their life.  And of course, it is all about LOVE.
Understand each one of us takes on our own personality before we come into a physical life, and there is a big reason for choosing a certain personality.  We are all given chances to awakening.  In other words, we can put our not so loving personality aside, and start to love which in fact is the main purpose or lesson of a physical life. To awaken is to forgive, to live with patience, or at times it is to let go.  Sometimes it is to take charge, and to take risk that comes with change.  As always, changes are good if you desire them to be good.  In additional to our weaknesses (greed, jealousy, self-importance, anger & etc.), too many times when we are in our physical lives, we base our evaluation of situations on human standards such as money, success, and material things.  In doing so, we blind ourselves from seeing the true solution to a situation, and suffer from it.  It is important to forgive and let go.  It is also important to take care of oneself - loving the self, releasing the self from nonredeemable situations.  The golden rule is to love and be loved.  It is inadvisable to put yourself through self-depriving, suppression, and self-depreciation.
Always understand you are a child of God and you are loved.  Value yourself and don't give power to or completely ignore others unloving words or attitude.  Never, never let them get to you.  We wish you a loving and fruitful evening."  (3/21/2003)
Many blessings,
Giving and Receiving Love Must Be Balanced
Greetings!
Today I facilitate a healing workshop with two other friends.  We pair up to practice sending and receiving love.  Not surprisingly, most of us find that it is easier to give than to receive or accept love.  We are mothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts in the family structure.  We are used to love, comfort, take care, and nurture others.  We often put our wants and needs at the bottom of the list.  However, we have to understand that taking care of ourselves is just as important if not more important.
Here are some words of wisdom from my spirit guides and angels when I asked them years ago about how to live my life.
"Life is like a sea, its ebb and rise are constant.  It is the mental view of self that sees it differently.  Everything is in perfect order as is.  What we want you to do now is to be more outright in the front.  State how you want your life to be.  You have always planned your life as if you are responsible for everyone.  No, you are only responsible for yourself.  In being responsible for your own well being, you influence others in a way that is much more than what you can perceive.  Don't spend too much energy wishing how the others will be or to be.  In doing so, you are not allowing others to learn their lessons.  You can ask or pray that they learn their lessons with ease and grace, but not the way you think things would be or should be."
I would like to share with you this experience.  It happened during the challenging restaurant years.
Most of our business came from carry-out orders.  Customers picked up their orders and left.  A few regulars often left a tip.  I served all with love and respect.  I never took into account if they gave me tips or not.  One day, almost all the customers that came to pick up their orders left me a big tip.  They did not say a word.  They just looked at me with love and compassion.  While my husband was driving us home that night, I was overwhelmed with emotions.  Tears dripped down my face.  In my heart, I said, "I am grateful for their (customers) kindness, but what have I done to put myself in this pitiful position!"  I 'heard' a 'sigh', and my spirit guide said, "Don't you know giving and receiving must be balanced!"
Tonight I would leave you, especially my sisters, with this thought - it is alright to be loved, and let us open our hearts to receive.  May we live a balanced life of giving and receiving love.
Many blessings,
Q of D
We are all tools in the divine plans
Here are some words of wisdom from my guide.
An entry in my journal dated 2/2/2005.
Sometimes we may find ourselves in a situation 'we do not ask for' and 'wonder aloud why is this happening'.
                                           ~    ~    ~    ~    ~    ~    ~
We are all tools in the divine plans.  He or she may appear in our life to bring about or intensify a lesson and equally possible he or she may be there to bring relief or joy in a stressful situation.  Likewise, we may appear in other people's lives having the similar influence or effect.  We may come into some one's life to bring peace and joy or as a tool for a lesson / challenge for him / her to learn / overcome.
In some cases, if upon self-examination we find no fault on our part in causing others unloving behavior, we should simply detach ourselves from their negativity.  He / she can be going through an intensified lesson, and we should not be bothered by his / her adverse reactions.
Love! Love! Love! Just love him and nothing else. Simply love him.
Greetings!
One day years ago, my son came to ask me for my honest opinion on something.  I gave him my honest opinion, but what I said was not what he wanted to hear.  As usual, he continued by asking more questions.  He already knew my answers to those questions since we had gone through similar discussions many times.  For examples, "Mom, what is wrong with showing off?" and "Why do you say money is not the most important thing in life?"  Eventually, I said I had other things to do for this conversation had been going on for too long.  I told him it would be up to him if he wanted to show off.  He would not stop at that, and I refused to say another word.  He began to say things that he knew would provoke me.  Finally, I had enough.  I kind of lifted myself off the chair.  I was about to stand up and give him an earful of what I had to say.  At that very moment, a man's voice came through urgently loud and clear *** -
           Love!  Love!  Love!  Just love him and nothing else.  Simply love him.
Immediately, peace came over me.  I sat down.  I smiled.  I realized I had lost my peace, and reacted to the situation again.  My son was very surprised for he clearly saw I was about to explode, but completely changed in an instant.  In my heart, I sent him a message: "I love you no matter what.  I love you, Son."  Quietly, he walked away.
My son was very quiet for a couple of hours.  He washed all the dishes, pots and pans in the sink.  Later, he came to give me a hug.  He said: "Mom, I love you."
Months later, mother and son got into a similar situation again.  He kept on pushing my limit.  I was about to react.  Then I recalled the "Love! Love! Love!" incident.  I burst out laughing.  I said, "Wow, you are such a good teacher!"  My son also realized we almost fell into the same old pattern.  He laughed too.
In recent years, we can really talk, listen, and end our discussion without hard feelings.  Life is a mind journey.  Our way of looking at life or our attitude towards life pretty much shapes the life we live.  Sometimes when we change our way of handling things / our view of others, we also change the outcome of a situation / relationship.  From the human point of view, "Love! Love! Love! Just love him and nothing else. Simply love himis a tall order.  However, it serves to remind me to look at others (not just my loved ones) with love and compassion no matter what.  I was very grateful for my spirit guide's timely intervention that day.  It was truly an experience of transformation.
One day not long after I moved here, I shared this experience with a small group of people at church **.  At the end, I said: "Sometimes when we change our attitude and look at others with love, we also change the situation."  When I went to church again, a woman came to me.  With tears in her eyes, she said: "One day, I had to go to a place to talk to a man about a project.  The man had an attitude.  I found him very difficult to deal with.  Suddenly, I remembered what you said.  I changed my view of him, and mentally sent him love.  He changed and became very cooperative.  Thank you!"
I will sign off for now.  Thank you for reading my blog.  It is in sharing we learn and connect.  I would love to hear your stories too.
Peace,
Q of D
*** That was the second and the last time I heard my spirit guide's voice loud and clear.  The first time was in the last quarter of 1999 when I was overwhelmed by life's difficulties.  Since I knew nothing about guides and angels, I tried to put it behind me. In time, I learned we all had our own spirit guides and angels.  Most of the time, I perceived their guidance as a knowing or thought that came to me.  In my posts, I chose to use the words 'I heard' or 'thoughts that came to me'.  In the last couple of years, they did not respond to my request for answers as often as I wanted.  Through dreams, they told me the preparation was completed; they would always be with me, and it was time for me to take charge of my life.
** It was a Unity Church (not the small church I called my spiritual home).  (Re My Big Moment of Embarrassment )
